About us.

First Aid Training Academy offers a wide range of first aid training courses to meet the needs of our individual customers as well as our corporate clients including the First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses.

We also deliver paediatric first aid courses for schools and nurseries, meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements, Activity First Aid, and AED training.

We deliver our first aid qualifications from our classroom facilities in Barnard Castle and also offer on site training tailored to the needs of your organisation.

All of our trainers and assessors have backgrounds relevant to our courses and pride themselves on being knowledgeable and experienced in their chosen fields of expertise. We only use trainers who are fully qualified, DBS certified and up to date with their continual professional development.

We deliver training that goes beyond ticking boxes, we make your course relevant, practical and above all else, fun!

Andrew Clarke - Head of Centre

Andrew has over 30 years of experience in pre-hospital care, including Mountain Rescue, frontline work as an Emergency Medical Technician, and volunteering as a Community First Responder with North east Ambulance Service. He remains actively involved in frontline care, reflecting his passion for helping others and supporting his community.

Drawing on extensive real-world experience, Andrew delivers practical, engaging training enriched with authentic scenarios and field-based insights. He has trained organisations, teams, schools, and individuals in first aid and related subjects.

Known for his approachable style, knowledge, and sense of humour, Andrew creates effective, enjoyable learning environments that make training memorable and impactful.
